On Friday 5 May 2023, we celebrated the Coronation of His Majesty The King Charles III.
Our day began with free breakfast and beverages on arrival for all staff. Our school environment was decorated with bunting, flags, banners and special items were served at break and lunch time.
A travelling band playing celebratory music, which travelled through each Phase during the morning arrival.
Students were invited to wear an additional Purple, Red, White or Blue item of clothing with their uniform.
A British themed menu was on offer at lunchtime: Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash and Shepherds Pie. At lunch, House Competitions took place, including golf chipping challenges, space hopper racing, cricket target bowling and a scavenger hunt.
Our Year 10 GCSE classes made Coronation Quiches - King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s official coronation dish. Devised by a Buckingham Palace chef, the idea was that people cooked it at home, as part of a Coronation Big Lunch.
