On Friday 20 and 27 September, a number of Key Stage 3 students represented WHGS in the Manchester Schools Cross Country event run by TeamMcr.
The event was a first for WHGS, as we have never entered the event previously, so it was a new opportunity for our students to compete. The group gave a positive account of themselves over the two events and most of our students improved their finishing positions in the second event, compared to the first event, which was great to see in terms of improvement across the two legs.
In total 16 students represented school, with Maryam in Year 9 finishing 14th overall, which was a fantastic achievement considering there were over 60 students running in each age group race from schools across Manchester, including Wright Robinson College.
Well done to all of those students involved. Hopefully we will learn from the experience for future events.
