For National Careers Week (4-9 March), we celebrated with a range of exciting activities to showcase the exciting world of work. Subject teachers also highlighted the career opportunities within their subject areas, so that students could get an insight into the different career paths available to them.

WHGS promoted NCW around school with the following activities.

  • Promotional videos were displayed on the screens around school, with NCW posters placed around school.
  • NCW worksheets/resources for KS3/KS4 were handed out to all students.
  • A competition for KS3 and KS4 students to design the best 'Tech Sports Kit'. We had three winners in Year 7 and Year 8 and some runners up that did a great job in designing their own very Tech Kit.
  • Virtual careers session/careers fair with local businesses, delivered by the NCW team to discuss the different career pathways to our students.
  • Staff career pathway door signs displayed around school, listing all previous jobs for students to see what route staff took to get to their current job role.

At WHGS we ensure that our students are supported with their career pathways. NCW was a great week to showcase the world of careers to ensure our students make it to their post 16 destination and future profession with ease.
