Last week, we celebrated all things 'books and reading' with a Literary Festival. The week was packed with activities, events and competitions for students across the Secondary Phase.

We had a visit from award winning author, Bali Rai, who gave a talk to Year 9 students, followed by creative writing workshops on Monday. We also launched our murder mystery, 'Murder In The Library', where students had to solve the crime and identify the murderer by following the literary clues released each day.

On Wednesday we were visited by local author and screenwriter, Danielle Jawando, who gave a talk to all of our Year 10 students, followed by a morning of creative writing workshops.

Thursday saw staff dressed up as famous book characters as part of our World Book Day celebrations, a Big Book Quiz in the library at lunch and the hunt for 'Golden Tickets' in library books.

The week of celebrations closed with prizes of gold tokens for the library's book vending machine being given out to all our winners.
