The Music Department hosted a wonderful Summer Concert in the Great Hall to a very supportive audience of parents, students, friends and staff.
The evening began with our lower school and senior steel bands, guitar group and featured many spotlight performers. Soloists such as, Attifa (piano), Yousef (piano), Hannah (violin), Chandan and Edlyn (piano and violin) all performed, and the winner of this years Wow Factor competition, Shalom, brought the house down. In addition, we had four bands perform hits such as 'American Boy', 'Where is My Mind', 'Hey Jude' and 'Best of My Love'. The Grace Notes Choir also gave their own tribute to the song 'Girls Put Your Records On' singing in multiple harmonies.
The evening finished with All-Stars Cuban Band and their renditions of 'Jungle Boogie', 'I Wish' and 'We Are Family'. Just in time to watch England in the semi finals of the Euros.
It was commented on by staff and the community alike about the quality and the standard of performance. Well done to all staff and students involved and thank you for everyone's efforts for making this live event come together. We wish our Year 11s and 13s the best of luck, particularly Leena, Hannah, Yousef, Jamal and Serafim.
