As part of our Design Technology unit on Food Technology, Year 5 became bakers for the half term.
They planned and designed what their bread would look like, as well as studying how a recipe can ensure consistent and controlled results. They then made the dough in small groups before splitting it into their own piece. Using their plan, they shaped their dough and then added different ingredients, such as chocolate and raisins, to enhance the flavour of their final product.
Finally, after enjoying the taste of their freshly baked bread, they evaluated the successes and areas for improvement.
