On Tuesday 9 July, Year 6 pupils met some of their new English teachers, who taught a lesson based on the Daedalus and Icarus.
Firstly, we considered the etymology and definition of the word ambition before predicting what would happen in the story. After that, we read the text collectively and used evidence from what we had read to develop our oracy skills by discussing how the two characters showed ambition.
The session challenged pupils to think critically and showed them the expectations we will have in Year 7.
